PRINCETOWN   ENERGY Electric Grid Stability & Supply Project

Town of Princetown Schenectady County NY
Incorporated 1798

Princetown Energy's Electric Grid Stability and Supply Project is a groundbreaking project that aims to fortify grid energy stabilization in the State of New York. Our innovative approach to project siting and fast track agency approvals that is absolutely critical in meeting our States energy storage demands in a timely and efficient manner. This dynamic approach will set us apart as a model for streamlining the process to New York State's 6 GW Energy Storage Roadmap. This critical infrastructure project is in alignment with New York States commitment to accelerate its energy blueprint, that was strategized at the September 5, 2024 Future Energy Economy Summit, that was held in Syracuse, NY as announced by the Governor of New York State

OUR GOAL

Princetown Energy's Electric Grid Stability and Supply Project was formed by one substantial land owner and long time resident of the Town of Princetown, located in Schenectady County, New York. We are interested in locating a grid support storage facility on our property. The proposed location which is a unique siting opportunity for bulk storge, could logically and logistically site the much-needed Blackstart Grid intertie and Long Duration Energy Storage Facility (LDES) by Enhancing Utilities' Blackstart Capabilities. It has direct access to a considerable length of the Edic, NY to New Scotland, NY 765kV / 345kV and a considerable length to the new Marcy, NY to Rotterdam, NY 345kV distribution transmission grid, as well as access to the new Princetown New York Interconnection Substation, which is part of the new Central East Energy Connection Transmission Project. This site also has direct access to the Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage network

This project has direct ownership of the contiguous land just under 400 acres. This rural setting is at an elevation of approximately 1400 ft. This site is conducive to limited environmental constraints. The siting location is 100% obscured from visual impacts in a very low populated area.  The siting's parent parcel has a very large viable fresh water supply for suppression and module cooling capabilities.

OUR MISSION

Princetown Energy is seeking qualified and strategic partners to help share this vision, to ensure the network of distribution stays ahead of demand and will provide electric grid enhancement for the future capacity to meet New York States requirements. We are seeking a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need.

OUR COMMUNITY

Princetown Energy is dedicated to protect the environmental constraints and provide local oversight.  Princetown Energy expects benefits and stimulus to the local and regional economy by increasing employment and earnings in the construction industry during construction of the project. An increase in demand for goods, services and related tax revenues will provide a positive impact on the local economy through direct and indirect project related expenditures.

Princetown Energy does not expect construction and operation of the project to result in any significant changes in residential or agricultural land use patterns.
